Govt of India will soon launch an Indian version of Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is one of the most popular and free internet-based encyclopedia websites. In Wikipedia, you can find (almost) any information that you are looking for. Wikipedia has large numbers of information and some of the information is not been verified yet, (or some of the information didn't have any right source) due to this we cannot easily trust some of the information which didn't have any right source to match with it and is not been verified yet. In fact, Wikipedia doesn't show the correct map of India.

There will be a machine translation and the verifying with the experts in that particular field to provide aurate and authentic information before it will be available for the people to read. - said DST Officials

The Government has organized a team of experts from IIT Patna IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, are focusing on developing machine translational tools.

The idea is part of DST's new initiative plan for the next five years which includes a series of programs that it plans to undertake. Also on the cards are Generation of High-Resolution National Topographic Data Base which will be prepared for the first time using drone technology images being developed at 10 cm resolution, making India join a select club of few nations to have high-resolution NTDB data as foundation data.
